The following items were taken from area police department reports and releases. An arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt.



Bret T. Nicholson, 22, of the 4400 block of Franklin Avenue, Western Springs, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use at 1:25 a.m. June 7 at Route 83 and Ogden Avenue.


Zijun Yan, 31, of the 300 block of Springlake Avenue, Hinsdale, was charged at 9:55 a.m. June 4 with domestic battery.

Charles N. Schultz, 34, of the 600 block of Mills Street, Hinsdale, was charged at 7:20 p.m. June 7 with domestic battery and resisting a police officer.

Christopher N. Wrobel, 48, of the 700 block of South Madison Street, Hinsdale was charged at 7:40 p.m. June 9 with domestic battery.


Two unlocked vehicles were burglarized the night of June 11 on the 800 block of West 8th Street and on the 600 block of South Adams Street. A credit card taken in one of the burglaries was subsequently used to make a purchase in the south suburbs.

Dog bite

A person reported June 11 a dog that was being walked on a leash by the owner near Fourth and Bodin streets bit her at 8 p.m. June 10. The victim did not immediately realize she had been bitten.

Moving violations

Police responded to a call at about 9 p.m. June 2 of someone driving all over the road on the 7000 block of South Madison Street. The driver was taken to Hinsdale Hospital for blood and urine tests.

Property damage

A woman reported at 1:15 a.m. June 9 a black Chevrolet pickup truck with a black flatbed trailer hit her car on the 1400 block of Burr Oak Court and did not stop.


A black 2013 Ford Explorer was reported stolen the night of June 11 from the 800 block of Bruner Street. The vehicle had been parked unlocked with the key inside.

A 2016 Land Rover Range Rover was reported stolen between 11:04 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. June 4 from a parking lot on the 200 block of Ogden Avenue. The key was inside the vehicle.

A bicycle, valued at $600, was reported stolen between 10:05 a.m. and 10:40 a.m. June 10 from the bicycle rack at the Washington Street and BNSF Railway. The owner had locked the bike, but when he returned it was gone and he found pieces of the broken lock. Clarendon Hills police found the bicycle at the Metra station in Clarendon Hills and it was returned to the owner. A security camera at the train station recorded a person abandoning the stolen bicycle and taking another one.

A woman reported June 5 her mother lost a gold watch, two rings, valued at about $12,500, and other pieces of jewelry while she was at Hinsdale Hospital, at 120 N. Oak St., Feb. 20.

A resident of the 400 block of South Lincoln Street reported sometime between March 15 and June 7 someone opened a cellular phone account with her personal information.
